Privacy Policy
PocketSave is privacy-first: your grocery vault stays on your device. This page mirrors the in-app policy.
1. Overview
PocketSave helps you plan grocery trips, track item prices, and compare stores. This policy explains what data we handle and how we use it, including optional AI-assisted product and receipt scanning.
2. Data You Provide
Data you enter in PocketSave is stored locally on your device, including:
- Your display name
- Stores, custom categories, units, and item details
- Cart/trip content, prices, quantities, and history
- Preferences like currency and feature settings
- Photos you capture or choose for vault items, product scanning, or receipt scanning
PocketSave currently does not sync this vault data to iCloud.
3. AI Product and Receipt Scanning
When you use AI Scan (product photos or receipt photos), PocketSave may send the selected image—and limited on-device OCR text extracted from that image—to Google’s Gemini API (Google Generative Language API) so the app can suggest item details such as name, category, unit, package size, or price.
- This happens only when you start a scan that uses AI Scan.
- PocketSave does not use scan photos for advertising or tracking.
- Scan results are used to fill or update in-app forms; your grocery vault remains stored on your device.
- Google processes these requests under Google’s Gemini API / Generative AI terms and privacy policy. Retention and model-training practices are governed by Google’s policies for the API configuration PocketSave uses.
4. Subscription and Purchase Data
For PocketSave Pro billing and subscription status, PocketSave relies on Apple and RevenueCat.
We only use the subscription and purchase information needed to unlock Pro features and restore purchases.
5. Support and Feedback Data
If you contact support or submit feedback, we may receive:
- Your message and submitted feedback
- When you use Contact Support, the email draft includes diagnostics: app version, build, device model, iOS version, locale, timezone, and timestamp
6. Crash Reporting and Diagnostics
PocketSave uses Firebase Crashlytics to help diagnose crashes, non-fatal errors, and app reliability issues. Crash reports may include crash traces, device and operating system information, app version, build number, Crashlytics or Firebase installation identifiers, the last app screen, basic app state such as Free or Pro plan, and developer-provided logs or context.
PocketSave uses this diagnostic data to investigate and fix reliability issues. It is not used for advertising or tracking.
7. How We Use Data
We use data to:
- Operate core app features (vault, carts, history, store/category management)
- Analyze product or receipt photos you choose to scan with AI Scan
- Process subscriptions and restore purchases
- Respond to support and improve reliability
- Diagnose crashes and non-fatal errors
- Enforce Free vs Pro feature limits
8. Sharing and Processors
We do not sell your personal data. PocketSave does not operate its own server for your vault/cart content. We share limited data only with service providers needed to run specific features:
- Apple App Store (billing/subscription)
- RevenueCat (subscription entitlement and purchase infrastructure)
- Google Gemini API (AI product and receipt scan image analysis, only when you use AI Scan)
- UserJot (in-app feedback submission)
- Firebase Crashlytics (crash reporting and diagnostics)
9. Storage, Retention, and Deletion
Your grocery vault and related records are stored in app storage on your device. You can delete data in-app (including permanent delete from Trash) and use Reset Local Cache to clear local app data.
Photos used for AI Scan are transmitted to Google to complete the scan request. PocketSave does not operate a server that stores those scan images. Any retention by Google is governed by Google’s Gemini API / Generative AI policies.
If you submit feedback or contact support, that submitted content may be retained by the relevant provider (for example, UserJot or your email provider) under their own policies.
Crash reports and related diagnostic identifiers are retained by Firebase Crashlytics according to Firebase's policies.
10. Children
PocketSave is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child submitted personal data, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.
